Dirt, oil, debris, dead skill cells, and other leftovers can build up at your lash line, which may not even be visible to the naked eye without the help of a magnifying glass. For this reason, you should be cleaning your eyelash extensions everyday with Lash Shampoo & Heyedrate Lid and Lash Cleanser for Eye (just a recommendation) at least one time at night after you have finished removing your makeup, but twice a day is even more preferable. Be careful when you remove your makeup if you have eyelash extensions.
A damage-free method of taking off eye makeup is to use your finger or special lash brush (do NOT to use makeup wipes, cotton swabs or any fibrous material that can tug at your lashes) to apply Oil-free makeup remover and then gently rubbed off with a damp cloth.
When finding a suitable cleanser for your lashes, these are the ingredients that you’ll need to look out for: any type of oil (including mineral oil), propylene glycol, P.E.G. (polyethylene glycol), any other type of glycol, any type of carbonate.
RETENTION TIPS
10 very important things that can slip your lashes extensions right off
1/ NOT cleansing your lashes / your face every day:
Even if you do NOT wear makeup, you have skin. Your skin sheds too, and that shedding will build up in your natural lash line if you are NOT cleansing them every day.
Hair follicles regulate our hair growth – if your follicle is clogged by oil build up, it will trap them from breathing in oxygen. This will stunt your growth cycle ending in premature lash loss. Highly Recommended to use Lash Shampoo & Heyedrate Lid and Lash Cleanser for Eye (can be found easily - online stores) at least once a day.
2/ Wearing eye makeup:
• Of course, you can wear (some) eye makeup but you NEED to be cleansing it if properly every night. Makeup build up is just as detrimental to your lashes as dead skin or oil build up.
• Eyeliner, mascara, strip lash glue… is STICKY. When you have sticky makeup build up, it will stick your lash extensions together and will result in premature lash loss.
• Waterproof eyeliner or using mascara on bottom lashes or on lash extensions.
3/ Using Oil, glycerin & dimethicone / silicon / vaseline based in skin or makeup products will also effect your retention, including makeup removal, makeup wipes (instead use witch hazel), Makeup setting sprays or any type of facial spray, sunscreen and any products under your eyes or on the eye lids.
4/ Taking medications: Thyroid, Hormonal, or birth control.
5/ Vitamin deficiency in Vitamin C, B, D, Zinc, Iron & Protein.
6/ Excessive use of sauna / steam / hot showers.
7/ Workouts and do NOT wash your lashes after that.
8/ Cooking and BBQ.
9/ Rubbing or tucking at the lash extensions.
10/ Waiting too long for refills: Grown outs lashes need to be replaced with a fresh extensions every 2-3 weeks (3 weeks is the maximum as our refill policy), when they grown outs too long, they will put more effort into holding themselves and can damage your natural lashes.
Clients have to come not longer than 3 week because after 3 weeks, the outgrown lashes will twist & turn, this might yank your natural lashes off (bald spots). It might look “full” for you but i have to remove the outgrown lashes, once the outgrown lashes been removed, it won’t look full anymore.
